Ministry of Budget and National Planning, the coordinating ministry for the overall national plans and development in Nigeria, will be hosting some key federal MDAs to a meeting to select the most viable projects for funding by the Chinese Government under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC)
The meeting with the select ministries is scheduled to hold in Abuja, Friday, July 15, 2016 under the coordination of the Department of International Cooperation in the ministry.
Permanent Secrtary in the ministry, Fatima Nana Mede, stated that the meeting was proposed by the ministry to deliberate on the project proposals (submitted) on the FOCAC’s 10 areas of cooperation.
‘ The select Ministries are expected to make presentation of their submission which will enable Nigeria select the most viable projects for funding by the Chinese Government’ she said
Ministries expected to participate at the meeting are; Power, Works & Housing, Transport, FCT and Agriculture and Rural Development
Others are Water Resources and Ministry of Trade and Investment
The FOCAC meeting is slated for July 28-30, 2016 in Beijing, China
