The Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs officially welcomed a new Permanent Secretary, Mr. Alo Williams Nwankwo, replacing Mrs. Belema Wakama, who also moved to the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.
Mr. Nwankwo, while receiving hand-over documents from the outgoing Permanent Secretary, in Abuja, on Friday, said he was committed to the good and aspirations of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.
He stated further: “It is by cooperation and putting in our best that we are helping Mr. President and the country at large to move forward”.
“We should study and implement all that is in the procurement Acts, Financial Regulation and all other extant rules of the service”, he stressed.
The Permanent Secretary promised to uphold and improve on the peaceful co-existence that had existed between the management and staff of the Ministry.
Earlier in her remarks, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Belema Wakama said: “There is time for everything under the sun, a time to be deployed to a place and a time to exit”.
Recalling the good rapport she had with the management and staff of the Ministry, Mrs. Wakama urged them to extend the same hands of fellowship to her successor.
“I am happy that I am handing-over to another friend and a very nice person”, she reiterated.
Until his deployment to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Alo Willams Nwankwo was the Permanent Secretary at the Economic Affairs Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Abuja.
