PROWA Frees Inmates, Commissions Centre in Ebonyi
The National President of Prisons officer’s wives Association (PROWA), and wife of Controller-General of Prisons Hajia Gwamma Ja’afaru has commissioned the PROWA Acquisition Centre in Ebonyi State.
Hajia Ja’afaru also empowered prison inmates who have acquired skills in various vocations with welfare materials.
Some of the materials include: sowing machines, generator, barbing kits, catering equipment among others.
She also paid fines for freedom of four prison inmates.
Hajia Gwamma Ja’afaru said the PROWA acquisition centre mainly focuses on the need for every officer’s wife to be industrious and hardworking as they are pillars of support to their husbands.

She also encouraged the inmates that were beneficiaries of the aftercare materials to use those materials to generate income for themselves and create jobs for the unemployed, become employers of labour and entrepreneurs.
For those that benefited from payment of options of fines, she advised them to be of good behaviour and stay away from crime.
The wife of Ebonyi State Governor presented a truckload of food items including Ebonyi Rice to the Nigerian Prison service.
The chairman of Pipeline West African Ltdalso presented gigantic refrigerators to the PROWA executives.
The controller of Ebonyi Prisons, Emelia Adobi Oputa expressed gratitude for the gesture of PROWA in improving the welfare of families of prisons officers and inmates.
She also commended the contributions of the government and other stakeholders in the state to the prison service.
