NADCEL 2019: Army Conducts Clean the environment Exercise
The Nigerian Army has embarked on sanitation exercises in Abuja, Lagos, Enugu, Oyo and other cities as part of events for Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2019.
The Army Headquarters Garrison in Abuja organized Environmental Sanitation Exercise to open up a service lane from AYA towards Nyanya by Sunrise Estate which has been reduced to one lane by land slide making it prone to accidents as a sign of the command’s Corporate Social responsibility.
In Lagos, Army personnel cleared and swept the areas of dirt’s, refuse dumbs, gutters and excavated and evacuated blocked drainages and gutters at Idumota market, Lagos island, Sabo Ikorodo and Ipodo Ikeja areas.
In Enugu, troops came out and cleared the dirty environment and weeded the grasses at New Heaven axis.
In Oyo, Officers and men of the Nigerian Army conducted the environmental sanitation exercise at Agodi Gate Area of Ibadan.
Many senior Army officers and soldiers, especially from Areas of Responsibility, were on the ground patriotically performing the annual exercise to the admiration and commendation of the public.
The environmental sanitation exercise was to show sense of duty to the host communities and promote better understanding between the people and the troops.
The exercise was in line with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai’s design to encourage Civil/Military Relations.
It is therefore expected that the exercise will enhance existing Civil-Military relations between the command and our host community.
