Bayero’s Son, Aminu and Nasiru Become Emirs of Two Emirates in Kano

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano has approved the appointment of two children of late Emir Ado Bayero as new Emirs in two emirates in the State.

Based on the approval of state executive council, Aminu Ado Bayero is the Emir of Kano Emirate while his younger brother Nasir Ado Bayero is the new Emir of Bichi Emirate.

PRNigeria gathered that the two new Emirs are graduates of Mass Communication from Bayero University Kano and the University of Maiduguri.

Born in 1961, Aminu Ado Bayero is the second son of Ado Bayero, the 13th Emir of Kano. He studied mass communication in Bayero University Kano before went to Flying College, Oakland, California, US. He did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC at the Nigeria Television Authority, Makurdi. He also worked as a public relations officer at Kabo Air, before becoming a flight engineer.

In 1990, he was appointed Dan Majen Kano and district head of Dala, before being promoted to Dan Buram in October of the same year. In 1992, he was promoted to Turakin Kano and to Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida in 2000.

He also served as the chairman of the Kano emirate durbar committee. In 2014, the dethroned emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, promoted him to Wamban Kano. He was transferred from Dala to Kano municipal, succeeding Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Tijani Hashim as the district head.

Meanwhile, his younger brother, Nasiru Ado Bayero was born 2nd February 1964. He studied Mass Communication at the University of Maiduguri and attended the Executive Programme of the prestigious Harvard Business School.

He has had extensive experience in the banking and oil sectors of the economy in Nigeria, Britain and the United States of America.

An accomplished entrepreneur and consummate manager of people and businesses, he sits on the board of several businesses including SEPLAT Petroleum, Intels (Oilfields) Services Nigeria Limited among others.

Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero was the Chiroman Kano (Crown Prince) and the District Head of Nassarawa in Kano State before his latest appointment as Emir of Bichi.
