NPRW 2026: NIPR Inducts 15 Fellows, Honours Top Government Officials, Admits 107 Associates
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has inducted 15 new Fellows, conferred honorary fellowships on top government officials and distinguished Nigerians, and admitted 107 Associate members at the ongoing Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) 2026 in Kaduna.
The high-profile ceremony, which formed part of activities marking the Institute’s 63rd Annual General Meeting, underscored NIPR’s commitment to strengthening professionalism, intellectual rigour, and excellence in public relations practice.
Among those conferred with honorary fellowships are the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu; Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa; Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo; and former Governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu.
Others honoured include Chief Marcel Anyalechi, Group CEO of Daar Communications Plc; Prof. Vincent C. Anigbogu, Adviser to the Ugandan Government and International Director General, Institute for National Transformation; Prof. Paschal Onyi Oguno, former Dean of Law, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University; Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro, former Executive Secretary of TETFund; and Prof. Ayo Omotayo, Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.

Also recognised are Engr. (Dr.) Johnny O. Chukwu, former Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration; HRH Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, Chun Mada III and President of Akwanga LGA Traditional Council; Prof. Samson Duna, Director-General, Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute; Mr. Arik Karani, President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA); Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi; Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar-General of JAMB; and Comrade Audu Titus Amba, President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers.
Speaking at the induction, the Dean of the Institute, Andy Ikeme, disclosed that the emergence of the 15 Fellows followed a stringent screening process.
He explained that out of 19 applicants, only 15 met the required standard, while two were disqualified outright and two others were advised to reapply after failing to meet the threshold.
“The assessment process is deliberately rigorous. Public relations is both a professional and intellectual enterprise, and the ability to translate theory into practice is central to what we evaluate,” Ikeme said.
The newly inducted Fellows include Tokunbo George-Taylor; Olufemi Dokunmu; Olumuyiwa Adejobi; Ekaette E. Bassey; Abdulrahman M. Umar; Ibrahim Musa; Nyong Nyong; Moji A. Jimoh; Shuaib Idris Umar; Olajide A. Ologun; John N. Naandoet; Chidorum B. Nwakanma; Omolola Tonia Alege; Rabiu W. Mohammed; and Chief Mrs. Moji Makanjuola.
NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, who announced the approvals, said the Fellowship Advisory Committee conducted the screening before the council endorsed the successful candidates.
He added that the honorary fellowships were awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to national development and the advancement of the public relations profession.
According to Spokespersons Digest, a publication of PRNigeria, the NIPR Fellowship remains the highest cadre within the institute, reserved for practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement, intellectual depth, and sustained commitment to the growth of public relations in Nigeria.
The ceremony further reinforced the central role of public relations in governance, policy communication, and national development.
