NYSC Boss Advises corps Members on Electoral Duties
Corps Members that would serve as electoral officers in the forthcoming Edo State Gubernatorial Election have been advised to abide by the electoral laws and represent the NYSC Scheme as good ambassadors.
NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim gave this advise today in Benin while sensitizing the Corps Members on their roles as impartial umpires.
He charged them to be patriotic, apolitical and maintain neutrality throughout the conduct of the election.
He said Corps Members’ participation as ad-hoc staff in previous elections in the country has attracted accolades to the NYSC within and outside the country.

Gen Ibrahim urged the Corps Members to be security conscious and use only INEC accredited vehicles throughout the period of the election as part of security measures.
“As Corps Members in National Service, you are expected to be neutral and apolitical. Adhere strictly to the electoral laws”.
“Don’t do anything untoward that will tarnish the image of the NYSC Scheme. INEC Management hold you in high esteem because of your knowledge, patriotism and our records in previous elections”, the Director-General said.
The NYSC boss also advised the Corps Members to obey all the COVID-19 safety protocols as they discharge their election assignment.
General Ibrahim during the sensitization, appealed to the good people of Edo State and security agencies to provide adequate security for the Corps Members who are on National assignment as ad-hoc officers during the election.
