New Year: Senators Shekarau, Kaita Prays for Nigerians

Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, CON of Kano and Ahmad Kaita of Katsina have wished Nigerians a happy new year.

Both Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria made the prayers in their new year messages.

In a statement signed by his media adviser, Dr Sule Ya’u Sule, the Senate Committee Chairman on Establishment and Public Service urged all to remain patient and continue with good prayers to God for the sustenance of national unity, peace, and progress.

The Sardaunan Kano enjoined all Nigerians to pray for an end to all the security challenges facing the nation and continue living in peace with each other irrespective of differences.

The former Governor and Federal Minister of Education wished all Nigerians a joyous and peaceful new year celebration while expressing optimism that the year 2021 will see the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, insecurity, and violence and usher in greater prosperity to the Nigerian people.

Senator Shekarau reaffirmed his belief in the country’s unity and trust in the common bond that binds all Nigerians together regardless of difficulties encountered in nation-building.

In a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Mallam Abdulkadir Lawal, Senator Kaita notes that the preceding year was exceptionally and extremely difficult for mankind due to Covid-19 pandemic and it’s attendant consequences, describing it as not the best of times for Nigerians and the entire global community

He says “Looking back from the end, the outgoing year has taken so much from us, but as resilient people driven by faith, we believe that those harsh experiences were just bends, not and end, and together we will rise above them sooner than later”.

Senator Babba Kaita, while thanking Almighty Allah profoundly for preserving his life and that of millions of his constituents, supporters and well wishers in the face of COVID-19 and general insecurity, observes that the rare gift of life again, offers a unique privilege to correcting past mistakes and forge a new frontiers to a robust legislation for the overall development of the country.

The borderless Senator, as he is fondly called, promises his constituents and the entire people of Katsina State of a more effective representation in 2021, which according to him will be anchored on more jobs opportunities for the teeming unemployed Youths, facilitation of more constituency intervention projects across the state and increased empowerment programs for women and youths to address the issue of poverty, hunger and deprivation.
