Former President, Governors, Ministers, Others Bag Thinkers Magazine Award

Thinkers Communications Limited, publishers of Thinkers Magazine will present awards of excellence in honour of individuals and organisations that excelled in their various fields of endaeavour and contributed to the development of Nigeria in various sectors.

This disclosure was made by the Chairman/CEO of Thinkers Communication limited, Alhaji Auwal Mu’azu in a statement issued in Abuja.

According to him, the event which is slated to hold on Monday, 20 September, 2021 at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja was organized in recognition of the outstanding performance of the awardees which stand out among their peers despite numerous, daunting socio-economic and political challenges bedeviling Nigeria, especially insecurity, economic downturn and the dreaded corona virus pandemic that is sweeping across the globe.

The statement reads in part “despite numerous national challenges facing the Nigerian state, it is gratifying to note that some individuals and organizations have remained focused and resolute in their efforts at galvanizing resources to make Nigeria a better place, hence the need for us to celebrate them to serve as motivation and appreciation and also to challenge others to follow suit.” Alhaji Mu’azu stated.

“Despite existential threats facing humanity such as the corona virus pandemic and the spate of insecurity across Nigeria, especially banditry and kidnapping, it is on record that economic indicators such as the GDP keep appreciating as a result of the contribution of patriotic and committed Nigerians to national development, especially in the years 2019 and 2020”

The statement added.
He further stated that the award ceremony by the Thinkers Magazine is line with the creed of Thinkers Communication Limited, which promotes developmental journalism as sine qua non for national development, adding that each award was based on the specific and particular area of excellence by each awardee which serves as justification.

The Thinkers Communication CEO further revealed that the 2019/ 2020 combined awards ceremony was a product of rigorous, painstaking and highly competitive process conducted by a committee of experts and specialists in different sectors which spanned over six months before completion.

During the awards ceremony a lecture entitled “The Role of Communication and Digital Economy in Addressing Security Challenges and Promoting National Growth and Development.” will be delivered by Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isah Ali Ibrahim Pantami.

Among those to be conferred with the awards of excellence at the ceremony which Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour include: former president Good luck Jonathan, Governors of Adamawa, Umaru Fintiri, Gombe, Inuwa Yahaya, Kano, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Katsina, Aminu Masari and Ministers of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isah Ali Pantami and that of State, Agriculture, Alhaji Mustapha Baba Shehuri among others.

Also public and corporate organisations such as FAAN, Galaxy Backbone, TAJ Bank and Image Merchant Limited will be presented with excellence and productivity award owing to their track record in national economic development.
