Independence Day: FCT Police Restrict Movement Around Eagle Square

In view of events lined-up for the 61st Independence Anniversary Celebration on Friday, 1st October, 2021, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has emplaced proactive security measures to ensure hitch-free celebrations. The CP noted that these measures include the restriction of vehicular movements on roads leading to the Eagle Square where the Independence Anniversary parade and other adjoining programs would hold.

2. The CP further noted that in collaboration with other sercurity agencies , there will be intensive confidence boosting patrols, coordinated stop/search operations and other intelligence-based crime fighting efforts around other places of public resorts such as recreational parks, residential areas, major highways, amongst others, to prevent any untoward situation throughout the period of the celebrations and beyond.

3. The CP, while wishing the residents a Happy Independence Day celebration, implored them to promptly report any suspicious movements, emergencies or distresses, through the following phone numbers: *08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883*. He further enjoined residents to report any unprofessional conduct by Police Officers through the Command’s Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) line: *09022222352*
