Chopwork Launches E-commerce Platforrm to Tackle Joblessness in Nigeria

Founder of Chopwork Marketplace, a Nigerian e-commerce startup, Jerry Akoh says the company’s vision is geared to tackling the scourge of poverty and unemployment among Nigerians and Africans.

Chopwork Marketplace was among the nine startups unveiled by NITDA at the GITEX Future Stars Show which held recently in Dubai, UAE.

In an exclusive interview with TechDigest, Akoh said that Chopwork Marketplace is an Artificial Intelligence-powered e-commerce platform created for sellers and buyers of digital products and services to grow at any scale.

He emphasized that Chopwork Marketplace is motivated by the determination to eradicate poverty among people in Nigeria and Africa by providing them a profitable online platform to connect to clients globally to sell their digital products and render quality service to customers.

“Chopwork serves as a source of livelihood for Nigerians to earn quality money to meet their daily needs and thrive properly. So, as a creative or service provider in Nigeria and other developing countries, you can register for free on Chopwork, list all your downloadable products and services.

“The downloadable products can be sold multiple times thereby generating passive income while the creative can render quality services. These services are properly secured to protect both the service providers and the buyers.

“To get more businesses online, we created an affiliate program called Sales Executives. Anyone can register as a sales executive and create a virtual market based on existing products and services on Chopwork. The sales executive can promote their virtual market through existing market which can be both offline and online’’.

Akoh, who also told TechDigest that Chopwork Marketplace offers people the opportunity to make money from the comfort of their homes, added that service providers will not have to wait till the completion of the service before getting paid because a customized process has been put in place to enable them access money earned from transactions.

Akoh expressed his gratitude to NITDA and NCAIR for giving him the opportunity to participate at GITEX 2021, saying that the event helped expand his vision and perspective about the value of networking and strategic partnerships.

“Chopwork marketplace is a global platform and since we launched, I’ve interacted with clients from across the globe but GITEX changed my perception about the scale that Chopwork needs to grow. My vision has grown exponentially as a result of attending GITEX.

“I was able to create lasting partnership in the little time I spent attending the conference. Many thanks to NITDA and NCAIR for availing me the opportunity to showcase my product to the world”,Akoh said.

Akoh applauded the Nigerian government for creating enabling environment to startups to grow and thrive through various initiatives being managed by the agencies under the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

The Chopwork founder, however, called for the enactment of friendly tax laws, open access to funding opportunities, investors and provision of more resources to startups to enable them contribute to developing the country’s digital economy.
