DEPOWA Donates Cash, Foodstuff to Orphanage, Fallen Heroes’ Widows

The Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA) has distributed food items to 50 widows of some fallen heroes.

The food items include ten kilogrammes of rice, millet, packs of Indomie noodles, beverages, and cash among other items.

Presenting the food items to the widows, DEPOWA president Mrs Vickie Irabor, commiserated with the widows over the loss of their breadwinners.

She said the items and the cash were to alleviate the hardship the widows were going through and to encourage them to remain strong for their children.

While noting that the armed forces would continue to appreciate the contributions of their husbands who paid the supreme price to keep the country one, Mrs Irabor said the Armed forces will continue to support them.

Responding on behalf of the widows, Mrs Blessing Ibrahim thanked the DEPOWA president for the gifts and for always caring for the widows of fallen heroes.

She asked God to continue protecting officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Vickie on Friday also led a delegation to the Christ Treasured Royal Orphanage Ministry, in Kwali.

PRNigeria reports that the DEPOWA president, donated N300,000 and distributed some relief items to the ‘young’ inmates at the Centre.
