Kaduna: Banditry, Reprisal Attacks Claim 360 Lives in 3 Months

Kaduna: Banditry, Reprisal Attacks Claim 360 Lives in 3 Months

No fewer that no fewer than 360 persons died in Kaduna State between January and March 2022, in attacks by bandits/terrorists, communical clashes, violent attacks, and reprisal, PRNigeria reports.

This was contained in a report of the security situation in Kaduna State for the first quarter of 2022.

According to the report obtained by PRNigeria, of this total, 44 were women and 11 were minors (below the age of 18).

In Kaduna Central Senatorial District, 214 deaths were recorded (59% of the total). 210 of these occured in Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi, Chikun and Kajuru LGAs.

Giwa LGA recorded 87 deaths, Igabi LGA 43, Chikun LGA 32, Birnin Gwari LGA 25, Kajuru LGA recorded 23 deaths in the first quarter of 2022.

Southern Kaduna Senatorial District recorded 139 deaths in the period under review, about 39% of the total.

The pattern of attacks, reprisals, and deadly communal and inter-ethnic clashes, between attacks by bandits, was repeated in Zangon Kataf, Kaura and Kauru LGAs.

54 people died in Zangon Kataf, 55 in Kaura LGA, 16 in Kachia LGA and six in Kauru LGA. Four persons were killed in Jema’a LGA during the first three months of 2022.

The Northern Senatorial District recorded 7 people killed in the first quarter (around 2% of the total), with three deaths recorded in Kubau LGA.
