Insecurity: Army, NIGCOMSAT Partner on Communication Infrastructure
The Nigerian Army (NA) on Wednesday declared its readiness to intensify its collaboration with the Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) to build a powerful communication infrastructure.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, disclosed this while playing host to the NIGCOMSAT management team, led by Engr. Tukur Lawal, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
He said this has become necessary given the security challenges bedeviling the nation.
COAS appreciated the enduring collaboration between the Nigerian Army (NA) and NIGCOMSAT.

Lagbaja revealed that over the years, the agency has provided fast, reliable, and secured communication to Army formations, which noted, has positively impacted on operational efficiency of the NA.
The Army Chief pledged to sustain the collaboration between the NA and NIGCOMSAT, stressing that the relationship with the agency has been positively rewarding.
On his part, the MD of NIGCOMSAT, Engr Tukur applauded the NA for the feedback received on NIGCOMSAT services and the mutual collaboration between the two organizations.
Tukur noted that NIGCOMSAT was established to provide seamless connectivity and satellite communication through technological innovation.
He observed, that NA must collaborate with NIGCOMSAT to promote operational effectiveness and the territorial defence of the nation.
He urged the NA to actively participate in the next satellite launch by the agency, in furtherance of national defence and security, through the collaborative development of secure communication infrastructure.
