New IPRA President Nataša Pavlović Bujas Receives Chain of Office

The newly elected president of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), Nataša Pavlović Bujas, has been presented with the Chain of Office at a ceremony hosted by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, in Belgrade.

The chain, forged in Turkish silver gilt, and bearing the names of her predecessors, was presented by President 2019 – 2020 Svetlana Stavreva.

“We are both proud to host this event and proud of our own member Nataša, to be recognised on the world stage for her public relations prowess,” commented Chamber president Marko Čadeż.

“We are entering a new era not because of me but because of AI. Artificial Intelligence  again brings to the surface the issues of trust and ethics”, said the IPRA President, “and I ask the question: Are we ready? That is why I have adopted trustworthy and ethical PR in the AI era as the theme of my presidential year.”

Nataša is Serbian and founder of Blumen Group, an agency for integrated communications and business consulting based in Belgrade. She has more than 25 years of experience in strategic communications, brand development, and market positioning. She has won national and international awards, including the GWA Grand Prix. She is a 2022 alumna of the Fortune US Department of State Global Women’s mentoring partnership. In the last ten years Nataša has worked as a business coach and gives guest courses and lectures in Europe and the US.

PRNigeria reports that the Board of IPRA in December 2023 announced the election of Nataša Pavlović Bujas as president-elect for 2024.

In reacting to the election by the Board of IPRA Nataša had said: “I am very pleased to serve as IPRA President 2024 and hope that my year will inspire all our members to become active contributors of our global tribe. My key goal is to strengthen the capacity of our profession for the trustful and ethical practice of public relations in the era of Artificial Intelligence”.

The IPRA President’s term of office runs from 1 January to 31 December each year.

IPRA was established in 1955 and is the leading global network for PR professionals in their personal capacity.

IPRA aims to advance trusted communication and the ethical practice of public relations. We do this through networking, our code of conduct, and the intellectual leadership of the profession. IPRA is the organiser of public relations’ annual global competition, the Golden World Awards for Excellence (GWA).

IPRA’s services enable PR professionals to collaborate and be recognised. Members create content via our Thought Leadership essays, social media, and our consultative status with the United Nations.

The annual IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA) initiative, established in 1990, recognizes excellence in public relations practice worldwide in a variety of categories. Recipients of the award take particular pride in the recognition granted to their entry as meeting international standards of excellence in public relations.

An overall IPRA Grand Prix for Excellence is presented each year to the entry judged as representing the highest standards that year. GWA winners demonstrate PR excellence.
