Nigerian Troops Foil Attack, Eliminate 5 IPOB Terrorists
In a swift and decisive response, Nigerian troops deployed for counter-terrorism operations in Ebonyi State have successfully repelled an attack on the Ishieke Police Station, which came under assault by suspected IPOB terrorists. The attack resulted in the torching of the police facility and several vehicles.

Upon arrival at the scene, the troops launched a counter-attack, overpowering the terrorists and compelling them to flee in disarray. The troops then engaged the terrorists in a hot pursuit, leading to an intense gun battle that resulted in the elimination of five suspected terrorists and the seizure of several weapons.
The recovered items include one PKT Machine Gun with a link belt containing 94 rounds of ammunition, two AK-47 rifles with three magazines containing 11 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one Sub Machine Gun with a magazine, and a Sienna SUV with the registration number Ebonyi CHR-364JC.
The Nigerian Army remains committed to operating in synergy with sister services and other security agencies to combat the terrorist activities of IPOB and its armed affiliate, the ESN. The army urges all law-abiding citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities to the relevant security agencies.
