Why Physical Alertness Prepares Personnel for Combat Readiness — CNS Ogalla
The Chief of Naval Staff, ,Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla has emphasized the importance of physical exercise in preparing Nigerian Navy personnel for combat readiness.
Speaking at the Nigeria Navy’s 2024 Second Quarter Route March on Saturday, Vice Admiral Ogalla stated that physical exercise is crucial for developing personnel’s physical and mental alertness to tackle the dynamic challenges of contemporary security operations.
The route march, which covered a distance of ten kilometers, began at the Naval Unit in Asokoro, Abuja, and ended at the AYA junction before returning to the base.

Ogalla, who was represented by Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete, Chief of Naval Administration, explained that the exercise is to instill combat readiness in personnel and prepare them to face any security challenges that may arise.
His words, “The exercise aims to instill combat readiness in personnel and prepare them to face any security challenges that may arise.
“This exercise ensures our men are physically fit to perform their assigned tasks.
“I assure all Nigerians that our Navy personnel are ready to counter any security challenges.”
PRNigeria, the exercises are being held simultaneously at all Naval formations across Nigeria.
