Yobe Police Detain Additional 90 Protesters
The Yobe State Police Command has announced the detention of 90 more individuals suspected of involvement in the recent protests, bringing the total number of arrests to 108.
In a statement released on Saturday by command spokesman DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the suspects were apprehended in various locations including Nguru, Potiskum, and Gashua.

He alleged that they have engaged in activities such as looting, property destruction, and curfew violations, among other offenses. The police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
He stated that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
The command’s spokesperson appealed to members of the public to report anyone seen with stolen property for prosecution.
Abdulkarim stated that normalcy had been restored in the affected areas after massive deployment of policemen.
He said that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Garba Ahmed, had urged protesters to engage the government in dialogue to meet their demands rather than resorting to violence.
