How DSS Operatives Nabbed Five Notorious Kidnappers in Ebonyi
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have successfully arrested five high-profile kidnap suspects operating in forests across Ebonyi State. The suspects, believed to be part of a notorious gang responsible for terrorizing communities in the state, were apprehended following a coordinated intelligence-led operation.
According to reports gathered by PRNigeria, DSS operatives, acting on credible intelligence, tracked the suspects to their hideouts in two separate locations within Ebonyi State. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to collecting large sums of money as ransom from the families of their victims.
In a separate operation a few days later, three additional key members of another kidnap gang were arrested in the state capital. Items recovered from the suspects’ hideouts included substantial amounts of cash believed to be proceeds from their criminal activities, as well as lethal weapons and other dangerous objects.

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, who was briefed on the details of the operations, commended the DSS for its professionalism and efficiency. He also acknowledged the covert nature of the service and refrained from divulging further specifics to avoid compromising ongoing investigations.
The Governor emphasized that the DSS, in collaboration with the military, police, other security agencies, and local vigilante groups, has implemented robust measures to sustain the crackdown on fleeing gang members. He assured residents that security forces would continue to raid hideouts and dismantle camps in the forests to ensure the safety of citizens.
Governor Nwifuru reiterated his administration’s commitment to eradicating crime and criminality in Ebonyi State, urging residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to achieve a safer and more secure environment.
