Air Chief Hails Troops in Maiduguri, Describe Their Sacrifices ‘Etched in History’

Air Chief Hails Troops in Maiduguri, Describe Their Sacrifices ‘Etched in History’

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has praised Nigerian Air Force personnel stationed in Maiduguri, describing their sacrifices in the fight against insurgency as “etched in the history of this nation.”

Addressing officers and airmen of the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, the Air Chief praised their courage, resilience, and the critical role they play in keeping millions of Nigerians safe.

“Your sacrifices are etched in the history of this nation, and in the hearts of millions of Nigerians who sleep safer because of your vigilance,” he told the troops.

The CAS’s visit—timed at a critical juncture in the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts—highlighted recent operational gains, especially in precision air strikes and close air support that have bolstered ground operations.

 

A statement by.Air Commodore, Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, said the Commanders briefed him on tactical victories and ongoing missions, underscoring the strategic importance of airpower in maintaining dominance over terrorist threats.

 

Air Marshal Abubakar reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to continuous investment in cutting-edge technology and innovation to support troops on the frontlines.

 

His message was clear: the NAF is not just fighting with firepower, but with purpose and resilience.

The statement said he was accompanied by senior officers from NAF Headquarters, marking the visit as not just symbolic but strategic—reinforcing the military’s resolve and calling for broader public support in the national defence effort.
