According to Zagazola Makama, the insurgents stormed the community around 5:20 p.m. but were met with strong resistance from military personnel, supported by local vigilantes and hunters. A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the terrorists to retreat after sustaining unspecified casualties.

Tragically, during the exchange of gunfire, four civilians were hit by stray bullets. Two of the victims—30-year-old Ishaku Markson and 28-year-old Buba Zakariya—succumbed to their injuries and were confirmed dead at the General Hospital in Chibok.

The other two victims, identified as 41-year-old Yama Wadai and Maina Fali, sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care at the same hospital. Health officials have confirmed that both are in stable condition and responding well to treatment.
