The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Abbaka Abba Djidda, was apprehended during a targeted operation following actionable intelligence linking him to cross-border arms trafficking syndicates active in the Lake Chad Basin.
A security source revealed that Djidda was caught with a substantial cache of illicit weapons and ammunition, believed to be destined for terrorist groups operating within the troubled region.
The Lake Chad area, a hotspot for insurgent and criminal activities, has seen intensified joint military operations by MNJTF member countries, aimed at disrupting the networks fueling terrorism, arms smuggling, and other transnational threats.
