Police Command Moves to Address Protest Concerns in Anambra
The Anambra State Police Command has acknowledged reports of a protest against security operatives in the state and assured residents that their concerns will be addressed through stakeholder engagement and lawful procedures.
In a statement issued on Friday, by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police confirmed that the report of the protest was formally received by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Ibrahim Ezekiel, on behalf of the Command.

According to the statement, DCP Ezekiel assured Ndi Anambra that the matter was receiving necessary attention and that the Command would engage relevant security stakeholders and partners in the state to ensure that the grievances raised were properly addressed in line with the law.
“The Command reiterates that the establishment of security outfits operating within Anambra State was borne out of the collective will and consensus of Ndi Anambra, with the sole aim of strengthening community safety, enhancing rapid response, and sustaining peace and security across the state,” the statement noted.
The police further emphasized their commitment to protecting lives and property, promoting lawful engagement, and working closely with stakeholders to sustain peace and stability in Anambra.
While acknowledging the right of citizens to express concerns, the Command urged residents to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring that all issues would be handled transparently and in the best interest of the public.
