NAF, Ground Troops Neutralise 30 Terrorists in Joint Operation at Dar Jamel
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in collaboration with ground troops under Operation Hadin Kai, has neutralised over 30 terrorists in a coordinated operation at Dar Jamel village, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, conducted on Friday, 5 September 2025, followed a heavy engagement between terrorists and friendly forces in the area. Acting on urgent situation reports, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) swiftly deployed an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and Air Interdiction missions.
En route to the location, the aircrew established contact with ground forces in Banki, who confirmed that reinforcements were already moving to support troops under fire. On arrival at Dar Jamel, the aircrew visually identified friendly forces before ISR scans revealed terrorists fleeing northwards into nearby bushes.

In three successive precision strikes, the fleeing terrorists were decisively engaged, leading to the neutralisation of more than 30 insurgents. Reinforcement troops later arrived to secure the area and stabilise the situation.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, said the success of the mission underscored the seamless synergy between air and ground forces in counterterrorism operations. He stressed that the operation reflected the determination of the Nigerian Armed Forces to dismantle terrorist networks, safeguard vulnerable communities, and restore peace in the North East.
“The Nigerian Air Force, working closely with sister services and other security agencies, will continue to take deliberate and collaborative actions to ensure the safety and security of citizens across the country,” Ejodame assured.
The latest success adds to a series of coordinated offensives aimed at degrading the capabilities of insurgents and restoring normalcy to conflict-affected areas in the region.
