Troops Launch Offensive Against Terrorists in Zamfara, Arrest Collaborators in Sokoto
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, backed by the Nigerian Air Force, have intensified operations against terrorists in the North-West, with fresh offensives in Zamfara State and arrests of suspected terrorist collaborators in Sokoto State, PRNigeria learnt.
In Zango, Zamfara, the operations took place on September 4 and 5, targeting terrorist enclaves in the hills and surrounding areas. According to sources, airstrikes were conducted on identified terrorist hideouts while ground troops, in coordination with operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), stormed the high grounds to engage the criminals.

“Troops further searched Zango village overnight. No direct contact was made, but intercepts from terrorist channels revealed up to 15 fatalities and several others with gunshot wounds,” a source said. The offensive is part of sustained efforts to dislodge terrorists from their strongholds in the North-West.
Also, Zagaozla reported that in Sokoto State, troops of the same operation apprehended two suspected terrorist informants and logistics suppliers in Gudu Local Government Area. The suspects were arrested on September 4 during a fighting patrol to Yaka village by a quick response team. They are currently in troop custody for further investigation and action, sources confirmed.
These coordinated operations reflect the military’s ongoing commitment to neutralizing terrorist networks and preventing the spread of violence across North-Western Nigeria.
