During the operation, the police recovered a pump-action gun and a black Toyota Camry car with registration number SMK 835 FC, allegedly used by the suspects in their criminal activities.

Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement issued Tuesday in Awka that the suspects were currently undergoing interrogation, and would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to ensure that “criminal elements have no hiding place in the state,” adding that recent operations were part of broader efforts to maintain peace and security in Anambra.

He urged residents to continue to provide timely and useful information to security agencies to aid the fight against crime.
