Police Nab Two Suspected Robbers in Ikeja, Recover Operational Motorcycle
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers who were allegedly dispossessing unsuspecting residents of their valuables in the Ikeja and Maryland areas of the state.
The suspects, identified as Segun Adeyemi, 32, and Abayomi Ajayi, 24, were reportedly part of a three-man gang that operated with a motorcycle. They were apprehended on September 29, 2025, at about 7:15 p.m. following a swift police response to a distress call, while a third suspect escaped.

Police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said in a statement on Thursday that the operational motorcycle used by the suspects was recovered. Preliminary investigation revealed that the gang came from Mushin to carry out their operations in Ikeja before they were intercepted.
“The two arrested suspects are in custody while efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing gang member. All the suspects will be prosecuted at the conclusion of investigations,” the statement read.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the officers for their swift intervention and lauded residents for providing timely information that aided the arrests. He assured the public of the Command’s commitment to flushing out criminal elements in Lagos and urged citizens to continue cooperating with security agencies.
