Seven Killed as Repentant Bandits, Illegal Miners Clash in Kaduna
At least seven people have been confirmed dead following a violent confrontation between a repentant bandit and a group of illegal miners in Kuyello area of Kaduna State, PRNigeria learnt.
According to reports obtained by Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred on Thursday when the repentant bandit, identified only as Shu’aibu, allegedly attempted to forcibly seize gold from the miners using an AK-47 rifle.

Eyewitnesses said the miners resisted and eventually overpowered Shu’aibu, inflicting fatal injuries on him. In retaliation, his associates later launched a reprisal attack on the mining site, killing seven miners and leaving several others injured.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA were quickly deployed to the scene and evacuated the victims to the General Hospital in Shika, where a medical doctor confirmed the deaths of seven miners.
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination, while the injured victims are currently receiving treatment.
