Two Soldiers Killed as Troops Repel Terrorists’ Reprisal Attack After Eliminating Notorious Bandit Leader
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully repelled a coordinated reprisal attack by terrorists in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, following the neutralization of a notorious bandit leader, Abu A.K, and several of his fighters.
Security sources confirmed that the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 3:10 p.m. along the Marabar Kyaware–Unguwar Chida axis of Tsafe.

According to the sources, the terrorists, numbering several dozens, ambushed troops who were conducting a stop-and-search operation in the area. The soldiers, however, swiftly responded with superior firepower, engaging the attackers in a fierce gun duel that forced them to retreat in disarray, with many believed to have sustained gunshot wounds.
“Unfortunately, two gallant military personnel paid the supreme price during the exchange of fire,” one of the security sources disclosed. “Their remains have been evacuated to the hospital for post-mortem examination.”
Reinforcement teams were immediately deployed to the scene in coordination with other security agencies, while joint patrols have since been intensified to ensure continued security and stability along the affected route.
The sources commended the troops’ bravery, professionalism, and quick response, emphasizing the commitment of security forces to sustain joint operations across Zamfara State aimed at eliminating criminal elements and ensuring the protection of lives and property.
