During the visit, the Commandant briefed the CNS on recent developments at the College, particularly progress on the construction of new facilities at its permanent site. He appealed for sustained support from the Nigerian Navy and other Service Chiefs to ensure a seamless transition.

Rear Admiral Ahmed also identified ongoing challenges, including accommodation and infrastructure gaps, while unveiling plans to enhance collaboration with Defence Attachés and review the NDC curriculum to address emerging security threats.

He further sought the Navy’s partnership in advancing research on strategic maritime and defence policy issues, noting that such cooperation would enrich national security planning.

Responding, Vice Admiral Abbas praised the National Defence College for its significant contributions to defence and security development in Nigeria. He reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to supporting the College’s operations, assuring the Commandant of assistance in mitigating accommodation challenges and facilitating the move to the new permanent site.

The visit underscores ongoing efforts to deepen inter-service collaboration in addressing the country’s evolving defence and security needs.
