Troops Rescue 10 Abducted Women, Recover Rifle, N1.6m Ransom in Kaduna

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 3 Division, under Operation Hadarin Daji/Operation Enduring Peace, have rescued 10 women abducted in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The victims were seized from their farms in Ungwan Nungu on November 29, prompting a sustained search-and-rescue effort by the military.

Sources revealed that after days of intense operations to track the kidnappers, troops made contact with the criminals at about 6:40 a.m. on Friday, moments before they attempted to collect ransom money from the victims’ relatives.

“The troops engaged the kidnappers with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon the victims and flee,” the sources said.

During the operation, the army recovered one fabricated AK-47 rifle, one round of 9mm ammunition, and ₦1.6 million, believed to be part of the ransom the abductors were trying to collect.

All 10 rescued women have since been debriefed and reunited with their families. Military sources said efforts are ongoing to pursue and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
