GUIDELINES: How to Apply for 2025 Nigeria Police Recruitment

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has released detailed guidelines for applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for the 2025 exercise, warning that failure to strictly adhere to the instructions may lead to automatic disqualification.

In a statement issued on the recruitment process, the Commission emphasized that all documents to be uploaded on the application portal must be in JPEG format only, adding that applicants are strongly advised to complete their applications using a computer rather than a mobile phone to avoid technical errors.

According to the PSC, applicants are required to upload five mandatory attachments, each within specified size limits. These include a passport photograph sized between 50KB and 100KB, Local Government Area (LGA) certificate (200KB–500KB), birth certificate (300KB–600KB), WAEC or NECO result (300KB–600KB), and a professional certificate for specialist applicants (300KB–600KB).

Prospective applicants are to visit the official recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, where first-time users should select “Start Application,” while returning applicants are expected to click “Resume Application” to complete previously saved entries.

The Commission urged applicants to carefully follow on-screen instructions and ensure that all required fields are accurately filled, noting that mistakes made during the application process could be costly.

Applicants were also cautioned against stopping at the preview stage. The PSC clarified that previewing an application does not amount to final submission, stressing that only candidates who proceed to click the “Submit” button will be considered as having successfully applied.

Upon successful submission, applicants are required to print their submission slip. Those who qualify for the next stage of the recruitment exercise will also be expected to print and complete a Guarantor’s Form in preparation for further screening.

The Police Service Commission concluded by wishing all applicants success, while reiterating its commitment to ensuring a transparent and credible recruitment process into the Nigeria Police Force.
