Police, NIPSS Deepen Partnership on Security, Policy Development
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday, 16 April 2026, received the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Professor Ayo Omotayo, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, in a meeting aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation on national security, leadership development, and policy formulation.
The NIPSS Director-General was accompanied by retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Leye Oyebade, and Dr. Garba Malumfashi.
The engagement centered on the need to deepen collaboration between both institutions in critical areas such as strategic policy development, capacity building, leadership training, and enhanced support for national security operations.

Professor Omotayo described NIPSS as Nigeria’s apex policy think tank under the Presidency, noting its mandate as a platform for high-level strategic reflection, research, and dialogue designed to inform governance and national development.
In his remarks, the Inspector-General of Police welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of sustained synergy between security agencies and policy institutions in addressing emerging security challenges. He reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, ongoing reforms, and improved professional standards across all levels of service delivery.
The IGP further assured of the Force’s readiness to partner with NIPSS in advancing research initiatives, leadership development programmes, and policy interventions aimed at strengthening internal security architecture.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to building strategic institutional partnerships in support of a safer and more secure country.
