Navy Commissions Education Intervention Project in Adamawa Community
The Nigerian Navy has commissioned a Special Intervention Quick Impact Project at Mayo-Belwa Central Primary School in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State as part of efforts to support education development and community welfare.
The project was inaugurated on Thursday by the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas (Admiralty Medal), through his representative, the Director of Veteran Affairs, Rear Admiral Raheem Taofeeq.
The intervention project includes six renovated classroom blocks, newly constructed toilet facilities, a solar-powered lighting system, tables, chairs, and other educational materials aimed at improving the learning environment for pupils in the area.
The project was facilitated in honour of the Navy Secretary, Rear Admiral Abdulhamid Baba-Inna, as part of efforts to give back to his hometown and contribute to the development of Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Rear Admiral Taofeeq said the initiative was executed under the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project, which forms part of the Nigerian Navy’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme and aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He noted that the initiative also provides an opportunity for the Nigerian Navy to recognise and honour distinguished senior officers who have served the country meritoriously.
According to him, the Navy remains committed to supporting community-based projects that positively impact the lives of Nigerians, particularly in the areas of education and social development.
Also speaking at the event, the Special Guest of Honour, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, represented by Ardo Bamanga Dalil, commended the Chief of the Naval Staff for approving the project.
Dalil described the intervention as a significant milestone that would contribute immensely to the growth and development of primary education in Mayo-Belwa and its surrounding communities.
In his remarks, Rear Admiral Abdulhamid Baba-Inna expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Naval Staff for providing the platform for the intervention and for granting him the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of his hometown.
The commissioning ceremony attracted several dignitaries, including officials of the Adamawa State Government, senior military officers, heads of paramilitary agencies, traditional rulers, and other community stakeholders.
