Troops Launch Rescue Operations After B’Haram Attack on Borno Community School
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have launched coordinated search-and-rescue operations following an attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Mussa community in Borno State, during which an unspecified number of school pupils were reportedly abducted.
Military sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 8:10 a.m. on Friday when terrorists attacked troops of A Company, 115 Task Force Battalion stationed in Mussa.
The attack reportedly triggered panic among pupils of Mussa Primary School who were writing examinations at the time of the incident.
According to the sources, the pupils fled in different directions amid the exchange of gunfire between troops and the insurgents.

“The students scattered during the firefight between troops and the terrorists. Search-and-rescue efforts are ongoing to locate the missing pupils, while preliminary reports suggest that an unconfirmed number may have been abducted,” a military source said.
The military added that further details surrounding the incident were still being awaited as operations continued in the area.
In a related development, troops of the 117 Battalion, in collaboration with Hybrid Forces, were deployed to Kauthama, Babanti and Ngadarma communities in Chibok Local Government Area following reports of suspected terrorist movements late Wednesday night.
The deployment was aimed at restricting insurgent movement and preventing possible attacks on vulnerable communities within the area.
However, security sources confirmed that one civilian was killed by the terrorists before troops arrived at Kauthama village.
Military authorities said clearance and pursuit operations were ongoing to track down the fleeing insurgents and restore security in the affected communities.
