Troops Repel ISWAP Attack on Borno Base, Kill Six Terrorists
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have repelled an attack by fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Logomani, Borno State, killing six insurgents and wounding seven others, according to credible intelligence sources.
The sources disclosed that the terrorists launched the assault on the military position in the early hours of July 7 but encountered stiff resistance from troops, resulting in heavy casualties among the attackers.
Intelligence reports indicated that the insurgents had assembled at Garal before advancing towards the military base in a coordinated attack.

Following the failed operation, surviving ISWAP fighters reportedly withdrew to Chukun Gudu, where they regrouped and buried six of their members killed during the encounter.
Among those reportedly buried was a senior ISWAP commander identified as Munzir, also known as Ba Alayi, who was said to be a native of Wulgo.
The failed assault is the latest setback for the terrorist group as troops of Operation HADIN KAI continue intensified counter-insurgency operations across the North-East. The military has sustained clearance missions aimed at dismantling terrorist hideouts, disrupting logistics networks, and limiting the operational capabilities of insurgent groups in the Lake Chad region.
