    Emir Celebrates Moshood Jimoh on Elevation to Police Commissioner

    The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has rejoiced with the former Force Police Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Moshood Jimoh, on his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police.

    The Emir, in a congratulatory message described the former Force spokesperson as a diligent and committed officer whose drive for professionalism projected the image of the Nigeria Police accurately and appropriately as a true friend of the people as well as a veritable tool for protection of lives and property across the nation.

    Scoring Moshood Jimoh high on professionalism on security and communication management, the Emir whose statement was signed by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona commended the Police Service Commission (PSC) for finding the officer worthy of the promotion

    The newly promoted Police Commissioner was born on the 10th of August, 1971, and got enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force at the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, in the year 2000. He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, between 1992 and 1997, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.

    He held the position of Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), FCT Command, between 2008 and 2012 and also served as Deputy Force PRO, National Headquarters, Abuja, between July 2016 and January 2017 before finally serving as the Force Spokesperson between 2017 and 2019.

    In terms of professional qualifications and trainings, he attended Combat Operations Course at Mobile Force Training College Maiduguri in 2001; African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS Darfur) in 2006; Responsible Leadership and Ethics, Prevention of Corruption Course, Pointman Leadership Institute, Abuja in 2012; and Weapons of Mass Destruction Counter Measures First Responder Training Course, United States Embassy, Abuja in 2013.

    The highly decorated police officer was a recipient of the Presidential Awards for Public Relations Personality of the Year by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations(NIPR) in 2017 and the Presidential Awards for the Stars by the same institute in 2021.

    He also received an award in recognition of selfless service to humanity as FCT Police spokesperson by the Brekete Family, Abuja, in 2012; an award of recognition for commendable service as a civil police member of the AU Mission in Sudan, African Union Mission in Sudan, 2007; and a Commissioner of Police Commendation for Diligence and Excellent Performance as FCT Police Public Relations Officer by AIG Michael Zuokumor, fdc, in 2012.

    In terms of professional membership, he is a Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), Nigeria; Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria; Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR; Associate Member, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON); and Member, African Business School, Abuja, among others.

    PRNigeria recalls that, until his promotion, Mr. Jimoh was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, General Investigation, Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Gombe State.
