Saudi Arabia to Host 3rd Edition of Global AI Summit in September
Saudi Arabia is set to host the third edition of the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit (GAIN) on September 10-12, 2024, in Riyadh. This was announced on Wednesday by Saudi Arabia’s Press Attache, Mohammed Al-Sahabi, at a press conference in Riyadh.
The summit, hosted by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), will bring together AI leaders from around the world to explore pivotal themes such as Generative AI, AI in urban life, and ethical AI governance.
According to Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, President of SDAIA, “As we approach the third edition of the Global AI Summit, we stand poised at the threshold of a new era, where AI’s transformative power will be harnessed to explore AI through the lens of ‘Now, Next, Never’—examining the current state of AI, its future trajectory, and the ethical considerations necessary to ensure a desirable future.”

The summit will feature over 300 speakers from 100 countries, including global leaders and AI specialists, and will include high-profile sessions, panel discussions, and workshops on various aspects of AI.
Similarly, top executives from Silicon Valley, influential policymakers, and renowned AI researchers will lead discussions on the future of AI governance, ethical implications of AI, and international cooperation in harnessing AI’s potential.
The event is being organized under the patronage of His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SDAIA.
“Under the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia is committed to advancing AI technologies that are beneficial to all of humanity.
“We look forward to welcoming leaders and innovators from around the world to Riyadh as we collectively explore how AI can be harnessed to create a brighter, more inclusive future.” He added.
GAIN 2024 will serve as a catalyst for global AI innovation, with opportunities for attendees to engage in over 120 interactive sessions, network with industry pioneers, and contribute to groundbreaking AI collaborations.
The summit will also witness the signing of agreements and announcements between SDAIA and global AI tech giants.
