Police Rescue Abducted Chinese National in Niger Forest as 26-year-old Stabbed to Death in Minna
Security agencies have intensified operations in Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) following a spate of violent incidents, including the rescue of a kidnapped Chinese national, a deadly youth clash in Minna, and an armed robbery attack in Diko, PRNigeria reports.
The FCT Police Command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force, successfully rescued a Chinese citizen who was abducted on April 18, 2025, from his residence at Stargate Apartment in Durumi, Abuja.
The victim, according to Zagazola, an employee of Panda Supermarket in Jabi, was kidnapped by two suspects identified as Abdul Rahim Imman Chindo and Ahmed Suleiman, both linked to Sunbelt Textile, Sharanda Kano.

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of ₦300 million, supported by a video and photo of the captive sent on April 20. Acting on intelligence and digital analysis, security forces traced the suspects to Kunkele Forest near Minna Airport in Niger State, where the victim was rescued unharmed on April 21. He was treated at the FCT Police Clinic and later handed over to Chinese Embassy officials and his family. A manhunt is ongoing for the suspects.
In a separate incident in Niger State, armed robbers attacked Dada Yagode Hotel and two nearby residences in Diko around 4:20 a.m. on April 21. The attackers injured two people and stole 13 mobile phones, an HP laptop, an iPad, two ATM cards, a national identity card, and ₦123,600 in cash. The victims are receiving treatment at the General Hospital in Sabon-Wuse. Police are pursuing the suspects.
Meanwhile, youth violence in the Fadikpe area of Minna turned deadly on the night of April 20 when 26-year-old Mohammed Amore was stabbed in the chest during a violent clash. He was rushed to the General Hospital, Minna, but was declared dead on arrival. One suspect, Abdullahi Rabiu, has been arrested while the prime suspect, Nura Buhari, remains at large.
The recent wave of violence has raised concerns among residents, prompting calls for intensified security presence and proactive measures across Niger State and neighboring regions.
