Man, 35, in Police Net for Killing Housewife in Kano
The Kano State Police Command has arrested the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of a 22-year-old housewife, Rumaisa Haruna, who was found dead in her home on April 6, 2025.
Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that the suspect, Shu’aibu Abdulkadir, 35, of Madatai Quarters, was apprehended last Friday following weeks of meticulous intelligence-led and technical investigations.

Abdulkadir reportedly confessed to breaking into the victim’s matrimonial home at Tsamiyar Duhuwa, Farawa Quarters, where he strangled and stabbed her in the neck. Rumaisa was discovered by her husband, Ibrahim Mohammed, in a pool of blood and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
“The suspect remains in custody and is cooperating with investigators to uncover any possible motives or accomplices. He will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation,” Kiyawa stated.
Commending the professionalism of the investigation team, Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori reassured residents of the command’s commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining public safety.
He urged citizens to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to nearby police authorities.
