Police Tighten Security for INEC in Anambra
Following directives by the Inspector General-General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM, mni, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Incharge of Criminal investigation and intelligence department who is also the supervising officer South East for 2019 general elections DIG Anthony Ogbizi Michael fdc has visited the State Command to assess level of preparedness by the Command towards ensuring a peaceful and hitchfree election in Anambra State.

The DIG met with the Commissioner of Police CP Mustapha Dandaura and other Senior Police officers at the Command headquarters and was briefed on strategies emplaced to protect both INEC officials, facilities and the electorates in the State. He warned the officers to exhibit high level of professionalism and effective supervision of their subordinates throughout the election periods.
The DIG also visited the Executive Governor of Anambra State His Excellency Chief Willie Obianor and briefed him of the level of preparedness/arrengements for the Security coverage and protection of INEC personnel and facilities before during and after the elections.
Consequently , the DIG in company of the Commissioner of Police also visited the INEC office for on the spot assessment of the fire incident which engulfed two containers loaded with card readers and other election materials on the 12/2/2019.
Finally, the DIG also met with election Stakeholders in the State and assures them of adequate Security protection . He called on Ndi Anambra and other residents alike to come out en-masse and exercise their franchise on election day without any hindrance.
