After Julaibib, Troops Kill Sambisa Deputy Commander Abu Khalid, 10 Terrorists in Borno
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have killed Abu Khalid, the Second-in-Command of Boko Haram in the Sambisa Forest, alongside 10 other terrorists during a decisive night operation in Borno State.
The operation, carried out around 11:00 p.m. at the Komala general area of Konduga Local Government Area, was executed by troops of Sector 1 in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force under Operation Desert Sanity.
Abu Khalid, a key figure in the Boko Haram/ISWAP hierarchy, was responsible for coordinating terrorist operations and logistics across the Sambisa axis.
His elimination comes barely 24 hours after troops neutralised another notorious commander, Julaibib, within the Gujba axis of the Timbuktu Triangle, further weakening the group’s command and control structure.
