IMPR, CIMICO Partner to Strengthen Civil–Military Synergy for National Security
In a strategic move aimed at strengthening national security through enhanced civil–military cooperation, (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria and Emergency Digest, has entered into a partnership with the (CIMICO).
The collaboration is designed to leverage strategic communication frameworks to deepen public trust, improve information management during security operations, and enhance service delivery across Nigeria’s defence and security institutions.
The resolution followed a high-level engagement on Wednesday when the Managing Director of IMPR, , paid a courtesy visit to the Coordinator of CIMICO, mni, at the Centre’s headquarters in Abuja.
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting national stability through structured collaboration between the media and security institutions.
Shuaib emphasised that modern security management requires transparent communication and responsible media engagement, noting that the media remains a critical stakeholder in monitoring, assessment, and feedback mechanisms surrounding security operations.
“We believe the media has a crucial role to play in promoting national security. Collaborations like this ensure close monitoring and feedback, which are essential for improved productivity and efficiency in service delivery,” he stated.

He further stressed that strategic communication is indispensable in managing narratives during sensitive operations, preventing misinformation, and fostering public understanding of citizens’ roles in national security.
Responding, Dr. Otakwu commended PRNigeria for its consistent, professional reporting on defence and security matters. He described the partnership as timely, particularly in an era where misinformation and disinformation pose significant threats to operational success.
“We appreciate the professional efforts of PRNigeria in promoting security awareness. We look forward to working together in the overall interest of national security and Nigeria’s development,” Otakwu said.
Under the partnership framework, both organisations agreed to focus on strategic areas including crisis communication support during security operations, the development of structured civil–military feedback mechanisms, and periodic assessments of public perception regarding security initiatives.
The collaboration is also expected to enhance citizens’ understanding of their responsibilities in supporting national peace and stability.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to develop a joint framework for sustained engagement and periodic evaluation of civil–military relations to ensure that security measures remain effective, transparent, and human-centric.
As part of the visit, Shuaib presented CIMICO’s leadership with recent publications produced by PRNigeria, further reinforcing the shared commitment to knowledge-based security communication.
