Eid: CDS Charges Troops to Stay Combat-Ready, Resolute
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa Oluyede, has charged troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to remain combat-ready, disciplined, and resolute in the face of evolving security challenges, as Muslims across the country mark the 2026 Eid El-Fitr celebration.
In a goodwill message to officers, soldiers, ratings, airmen, airwomen, and civilian staff of the Armed Forces, the defence chief urged personnel to uphold the values of sacrifice, discipline, and compassion imbibed during the holy month of Ramadan.
He stressed that the security and stability of Nigeria remain critical to the nation’s democratic growth and development, noting that troops must sustain operational momentum across various theatres.
“The evolving security environment requires that we consolidate joint operations, enhance synergy, and maintain a professional posture capable of mitigating emerging threats,” he said.
