Iran ‘Reportedly’ Rejects US Ceasefire Offer, Sets Conditions for End to Conflict
Iran has rejected a ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States amid its ongoing conflict involving Israel, according to state media reports on Monday.
The development comes despite a warning from former US President, Donald Trump, who threatened to target key Iranian infrastructure if Tehran failed to comply with conditions tied to the proposed truce.
Iran’s state news agency, Islamic Republic News Agency, reported that Tehran communicated its response to the proposal through Pakistan. While details of the US offer were not disclosed, the report indicated that Iran formally rejected the ceasefire in a response outlined in ten points.
According to IRNA, Iran insisted on a “definitive end to the conflict” rather than a temporary truce, signalling its position against a ceasefire under the current terms.

The conflict, now in its 38th day, was triggered by coordinated attacks involving the United States and Israel, with Iran responding through missile strikes on targets across the Middle East. Diplomatic efforts by multiple countries are ongoing in a bid to de-escalate the situation.
Trump had earlier warned that failure by Iran to agree to conditions—including ensuring free passage through the Strait of Hormuz—could result in strikes on critical infrastructure such as power plants and bridges.
However, Iran reportedly countered with its own conditions, including a cessation of hostilities across the region, guarantees for safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, post-conflict reconstruction, and the lifting of sanctions.
The latest development underscores the challenges facing diplomatic efforts to halt the conflict, as both sides maintain firm positions amid rising regional tensions.
