Police Nab 151 Cultists in Anambra

In continuation of its determination to stem the tide of cultism and ensure safety of lives and property in Anambra State, the Command Special Anti Cultism unit, Special Anti robbery Squad SARS and Divisional Police headquarters had during the period under review carried out a coordinated Raids on Criminal hideouts and blackspots as follows,

2. Between 01/04/2019 to date, the State Command have arrested a total number of One hundred and fifty one (151) suspected cultists from various parts of the State as follows.
Okija 16 Suspected cultists were arrested,Nanka 12 suspects arrested, Nkwelle 11 suspects arrested, Ogidi 9 suspects arrested, Awka 8 suspects arrested, Ajali /Oko 14 suspects arrested, Enugwu Uku /Nimo/Nise 18 suspects arrested, Fegge/Awada 12 suspects arrested, Inland town Onitsha 13 suspects arrested, Achalla 7 suspects arrested, Urum 4 suspects arrested, Ogbunike 03 arrested ,Amawbia 15 suspects and Ukwulu /Ukpo 9 suspects arrested respectively.

3. Consequently, the Command has equally recovered the following exhibits from the raids,

-Three machetes,
-Four Axes
-Two berrets and,
-Some quantities of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

4. Meanwhile, out of the (151) suspects arrested so far,forty suspects (40) have confessed and charged to Court,Sixty two suspects (62) were screened and released, Twenty suspects (20) are under Age and placed under supervision while (29) others are undergoing investigation.

Finally, the Command implores the Public to report any suspicious persons or movements to the nearest Police Station or call this emergency number 07039194332 for prompt response, please.
