Third-Estate Sponsors 20 Graduates to acquire ICT knowledge, Solar Installation skills

The Third Estate Forum, a prominent socio-cultural group has disclosed that 20 graduates and indigenes of the Ilorin Emirate of in Kwara State are presently undergoing a 13-week intensive ICT skills acquisition training in web application at Kwara College of Education.

The President of Third Estate, Mallam Ahmed Bolaji Nagode who made the disclosure added that the group also successfully launched a solar PV skills acquisition project where ten Ilorin youths, drawn from five Local Government Areas (LGAs), were trained on solar panel installation at the National Power Training Institute (NAPTIN) last year.

These, he said will enable the trainees to become self-reliant, hence contributing to the development and growth of the Emirate and Kwara State in general.

Nagode, while speaking at Kwara Hotel, venue of the group’s the Annual General Meeting (AGM), expressed delight that one Abdulrazaq Lawal, a final year student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), who is been sponsored by the group is about graduating with either a First Class or at worst 2-1, Second Class Upper.

He added that the present crop of executive led by himself after their inauguration in April 2017 sustained various activities including scholarship for indigent students, Ramadan Programmes, Annual Lectures and introduction of Medical Outreach.

Among other successes recorded, Alh. Nagode, said their medical outreach programme at local communities, Sallah Durbar, ‘Annual Ramadan Tafsir Programme’ and donations of kettles to identified mosques in the emirate have been sustained in the last two years.

Similarly, the Third Estate’s President, felicitated with Dr. Ibrahim Oloriegbe, an active member of the group who is now a Senator-Elect, while pledging to support and constructively advice the incoming administration of Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman in order to avoid pitfalls in governance.
