Troops Eliminate Scores of Terrorists, Recover Guns, Motorcycles in Sokoto
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised several terrorists and recovered weapons, motorcycles and rustled livestock during a fierce engagement in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The operation followed credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists who were allegedly attempting to move rustled livestock through the Maikujera general area of Rabah LGA.
According to a statement on the operation, troops swiftly deployed to intercept the terrorists but encountered an attempted ambush along the route.
The troops, however, responded with superior firepower, breaking through the ambush and neutralising several terrorists, while others reportedly fled into the surrounding bush.

During the subsequent exploitation of the area, the troops recovered AK-47 rifles, motorcycles reportedly used by the terrorists and the rustled livestock.
The military said the operation had further disrupted the activities of the terrorists in the area and prevented them from moving the stolen livestock through the community.
It added that the Rabah and Maikujera axis remained calm and stable following the engagement.
Troops have maintained a strong presence in the area and continued routine patrols to safeguard residents and prevent further attacks or criminal activities.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains one of the military’s major counter-insurgency and counter-banditry operations in the North-West, targeting armed groups and their logistical networks across the region.
