Borno: 25 Boko Haram Family Members Surrender as Troops Arrest Terrorist Logistics Supplier
Nigerian troops have arrested a suspected terrorist collaborator and logistics supplier while 25 family members of Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters surrendered in separate incidents in Borno State amid intensified military operations across the North-East.
In the first operation, troops of 29 Task Force Brigade, in collaboration with Forest Guards and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested the suspected logistics supplier at about 3:45 p.m. on September 5, 2026, in Benisheik, Kaga Local Government Area.
The arrest followed intelligence on suspected terrorist logistics activities in the area.
A large quantity of medical supplies was recovered from the suspect during the operation.
Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that the suspect claimed to have been sent by a suspected terrorist leader identified as Mr Goni Comd to procure the medical items for the group.
The suspect and recovered items have been kept in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
Meanwhile, 25 family members of terrorists surrendered to troops in two separate incidents in Borno State.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the four individuals came from Arianna, Koloram Yerwa Kura and Tumbuma communities in Marte Local Government Area.
They were subsequently taken into the custody of 24 Military Intelligence Regiment for screening and further investigation.
In a related development, seven women and 14 children identified as family members of terrorists surrendered to troops of 112 Task Force Battalion in Mafa, Dikwa Local Government Area, at about 2 p.m. on September 2.
Preliminary findings indicated that the group fled the Yaganari terrorist enclave amid clashes between rival factions within the terrorist group.
The arrest of the suspected logistics supplier and the surrender of the 25 family members come as security forces sustain offensive and intelligence-led operations aimed at degrading terrorist networks and disrupting their support structures in Borno and the wider North-East.
Security authorities are expected to continue the screening and processing of the surrendered individuals in accordance with established procedures.
