Ondo Air Crash: Disu Condoles NAF, Reiterates Continuous Police Support
The Inspector-General of Police, Tunde Disu, has commiserated with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the crash of its ATR 42 aircraft, assuring the service of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued support.
Disu paid a condolence visit to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja on Friday, October 9, 2026, following the crash involving the aircraft with registration number NAF 931.
According to a statement by the Nigeria Police Force, the IGP conveyed the condolences of the police to the Air Force, describing the incident as a significant loss to the service and the nation.

He also sympathised with the bereaved families and colleagues of the deceased officers, praying for the peaceful repose of their souls and the strength for their loved ones to bear the loss.
In a personally written condolence message, Disu reaffirmed the police force’s solidarity with the Air Force, declaring, “The Nigerian Police stands with the NAF always.”
Responding, Aneke expressed appreciation to the IGP and the Nigeria Police Force for their support, noting that the visit underscored the longstanding bond of camaraderie and inter-service solidarity between the two organisations.
He said the gesture demonstrated the importance of institutional cooperation and mutual support, particularly during periods of adversity.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment of both services to maintaining the relationship and cooperation essential to their respective national security responsibilities.
